Harangi water level rising

Kushalnagar: With Kodagu witnessing incessant rains, the water flow into the Harangi reservoir  has increased. Presently, just eight feet is left for the reservoir to attain its full level.

Villages in the vicinity of the reservoir are experiencing good rainfall. Inflow into the reservoir stood  at 10,600 cusecs and already  4500 cusecs of water has been released to the river towards the power plant.

Water Users Association President Ganesh who spoke to reporters said the heavy rains have come as a welcome relief to the local farmers who were at a loss due to delayed monsoon. He also hoped the reservoir would soon be full.

Meanwhile, the Chikkihole reservoir, the smallest reservoir in the state, located at Rangasamudra village, is already full and is overflowing.
