Hassan : The district unit of the Dr Raj Abhimani Sangha staged a huge protest in the town demanding filing of criminal case against the two MLAs of Belgaum who delivered an inflammatory speech.
The protestors who took out a procession from near Hemavathi statue to the NR Circle staged a protest near the DC office. The agitators alleged that the M.E.S. MLAs Sambhaji Patil and Aravinda Patil by initiating a debate in Hindi on the very first day of the Belgaum session of the assembly, have offended Kannada and Kannadigas.
The act of the two MLAs in walking out of the House demanding circulars in Marathi language in the assembly, is nothing but the heights of everything, the protestors said and demanded withdrawal of cases against pro-Kannada activists and also their release.
The agitators also warned that Kannadigas will give a befitting reply if the MLAs continued such acts. They appealed to the DC to initiate criminal proceedings against the two MLAs and arrest them.
Prashanth Nagaraj, District President of the Sangha, Balugopal, Honorary President, S Manjunath Sharma, General Secretary and others took part in the protest.
