Chikkamagaluru: Despite the ban on hunting all over the country, a group of hunters killed two stags in Chikkamagaluru forest area. According to sources, the hunters were skilled shooters.The forest officials have arrested 11 men including a sharp shooter. According to reports, the accused had come to Tarikere forest to celebrate New Year. The sharp shooter has been identified as Sameer who had won several medals in a local shooting competition.

The accused were arrested near Kemmangundi check post. One sharp shooter who was with the accused has escaped and is still at large. Efforts are being made by the forest officials to catch him and take him to task.
