‘Mend your ways,’ Chikkamagaluru SP Annamalai warns anti-social elements

Chikkamagaluru: SP Annamalai, who was a nightmare for anti-social elements in Udupi has got on to doing what he does the best.

After taking charge as the SP of Chikkamagaluru, Annamalai, who was christened as ‘Anna’ and ‘Udupi Singham’ by his admirers in Udupi has given strong warning to those involved in matka, betting and gambling business in the district to stop their illegal business instantly or else be ready to face police action.
Setting Sunday as deadline to the anti-socials to hang their shoes, the SP has also spoken of stern action to those smoking in public spaces.

Apart from the anti-socials he has given a loud and clear message to his men stating that if such businesses are seen running then action will also be taken against the Inspectors of the respective station as well.

Warning to Gau Rakshaks

Annamalai has said that cattle policing instances will also be dealt with all seriousness and any kind of hooliganism in the name of safeguarding cattle will not be tolerated.

“The case files of cattle protectors would be re-opened and their bail would also be cancelled,” Annamalai said warning them of invoking Goonda Act if they are found to be habitual offenders.

He said that Chikkamagaluru should be peaceful and to be precise it should always remain to be ‘holiday paradise’.
