Bengaluru: With little children seeing Varthur lake frothing to death, the tiny hands took to doing a great deed. As many as 1,000 kids from K K School in Varthu areas wrote to an influential someone and that someone is none other than Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi.

“Dear Modi uncle, clean air, clean water and clean environment is our right,” is the opening line of the letters written by the students of KK School.

Varthur is home to one of the largest lakes, the lake which has been frothing for the last two years or so and seeing that the authorities are least bothered to take steps to save the lake, as many as 1000 children from class 1 to 10 have taken the initiative to post letters to PM Modi, who had already taken up the cause of cleaning River Ganga.

Due to the precarious state of Varthur lake, the local residents are living under constant fear and they say that their plea always fell on deaf ears. Will the PM pay heed to these children’s quest for clean and pure living condition? Let’s wait and watch.
