Chikkamagaluru: Condemning the Bajrang Dal activists who allegedly assaulted the Dalits in NR Pura on July 10 for slaughtering a cow for procuring beef for consumption, the Congress party took out a procession from Kadabakere to Shanthipura on Sunday.
The rally was participated by Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Working President Dinesh Gundurao and the 20 km walk bagged outstanding response.

Addressing the gathering Dinesh Gundurao said that a sense of fear has gripped the entire nation, specifically the minorities and the Dalits.

“The Congress stands for all the classes and communities because it treats everyone equally. But, the parties like the BJP do not believe in harmony and peaceful co-existence. The outfits affiliated to the Sangha Parivar have been tearing the social fabric apart and now it is time the police acted stern against these outfits,” he said.

MLC Motamma said that Malenadu people are not just peace-loving people, but they are somebody who live for their self-respect. “These Gau Rakshaks are criminals in the night and Gau Rakshaks in the day. This is a dangerous trend. These fake Gau Rakshaks must be blacklisted and dealt as criminals,” she said.
