Mangaluru: The interim order of the Tribunal on the Mahadayi issue has come as a shock to the people due to Karnataka’s inadequate submissions and representation and weak arguments before the tribunal which had clear indications the state was let down willfully with a motive.

It was the collective failure of the elected representatives – 225 MLA’s and 28 MP’s to act in unison to safeguard the interest of Karnataka. Realising that the people of the state have understood the motives of the MLAs and the MPs the  Congress led Karnataka government had called an all party meeting on august 7 to discuss the future line of action.

However, Dakshina Kannada MP Nalin Kumar Kateel has decided to boycott the meeting on the grounds that the CM did not convene one such meets to discuss over the burning issue of Yettinahole which is considered to be detrimental to Dakshina Kannada.

However, the Aam Aadmi Party has said that by not taking up the issue of Mahadayi at the  centre, the BJP MPs have betrayed the trust of the Kannadigas. The AAP has demanded all BJP MPs to stand united and pressurise the PM to intervene and get justice to Karnataka in the Mahadayi issue. The AAP has even submitted a petition asking Kateel to take up this cause with the central government or else to resign.

They say that the BJP MP seems to be unmoved by the injustice meted out to the Karnataka on the Mahadayi issue. Instead of showing responsibility as a elected representative and participate in the all party meeting concerned with Mahadayi issue, the MP is boycotting it in the name of Yettinahole project. It is obvious that BJP MP lacks wisdom to understand the importance of two different subjects – Mahadayi and Yettinahole. This  action of his has clearly demonstrated that BJP as a party is clearly working against the interest of Karnataka and is involved in cheap and dirty politics, alleged the AAP members.

The AAP, on behalf of Kannadigas, strongly condemning the attitude of the BJP MP has questioned his right to let down his own people.
