Kalaburagi: A total of Rs 3.81 crore has been allocated for the refurbishment of the interior of the Kalaburagi airport terminal building.
The airport will mark its fourth anniversary on November 22. Following the reconstruction of the runway overlay, the refurbishment of the terminal building’s interior is also in progress.
The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has issued a tender for this purpose and stipulated that the project should be finished within a two-month timeframe.
The station officials had made a request to AAI to demolish the current terminal and construct a new one with a 100-passenger capacity. This project was estimated to cost approximately Rs 50 crore, he explained. However, their request was turned down, citing that there would be no new construction for now, a station representative stated.
