Kalaburgi: The State Women and Children Welfare Minister Jayamala opined here on Sunday, April 21, that if the veteran Congress leader and Lok Sabha candidate from Kalaburgi constituency Mallikarjun Kharge doesn’t win this election, then it would be a huge setback to the minorities.

Addressing a gathering at the Ediga community convention, she said that in order to put a brake on conspiracy of some of the anti-minority groups, Kharge must win and that it was the question of prestige.

“It is the victory of the constitution if Kharge wins”, Jayamala said.

Lauding the contribution of earlier Congress government under the leadership of former chief minister Siddramaiah and the current state coalition of Congress and Janata Dal (S), she said that both the governments had immensely contributed towards the upliftment and development of the Ediga community and that State Social Welfare Minister Priyank Kharge providing Rs 5 Crore towards the Bhramashri Narayana Guru Bhavan was a standing example for it.
