Chitradurga: Litterateur Professor Chandreshekhar Patil will be conferred the Basavashri Award by the Murugha Rajendra Mutt on May 7.

Dr. Sri Shivamurthy Murugha Sharanaru has said that Prof. Patil was nominated for his immense contribution towards preserving and molding Kannada language.

The award comprises Rs 5 Lakh cash and a certificate.
