Kalaburagi: The Karnataka State Dalit Sangharsh Samiti (DSS) along with the Government Hostel and Residential School Employees Union has decided to stage a stir outside the Deputy Commissioners’ office in Kalaburagi city on December 7, over non-payment of salary to the hostel and school staff over the last nine months.
Samiti State Convener Arjun Bhadre has said that the protesters would submit a memorandum to the CM and the Minister for Social Welfare, through the DC demanding clearance of the dues of 53 employees recruited under Group ‘D’ in 2012.
Bhadre said that the government owes around Rs. 63.18 lakh to the 52 employees working in various Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes hostels and residential schools in Kalaburagi city. Each employee has to get Rs.1,21,500 as per the salary fixed at Rs. 13, 500 per month. The samiti would intensify its agitation across the State if the government failed to initiate measures immediately to clear the dues, he said.
