Hubballi: Narendra Modi must immediately take a final call on implementing the crucial Kalasa-Banduri water project. “Karnataka has given 17 MPs as gift to him to become the prime minister of the country. Hence, he should not forget our state. If he forgets he will surely face revolt from the people”, said JD(S) state president H D Kumaraswamy here on Sunday.
HDK: Yeddyurappa did not show interest in Kalasa-Banduri project-1Speaking to media persons at Hubballi, HDK said, “The farmer community has been facing various problems in the state. Both the state and the central governments are not responding to thier plea”.

All those who ended their lives are true farmers. But the state government has denied this and said that few of them were not farmers and that hence have not been given compensation. “In Haveri, 69 farmers have ended their lives, and I will give Rs 50,000 to each of them including whom government has denied relief”, he promised.

In response to BJP leader Yeddyurappa’s demand to waive farmer loans, HDK said, “When there was a coalition government, Yeddyurappa had opposed waiver of farmer loans, hence now he has no moral right to speak about farmers. For his political presence, through Raitha Chaitanya Yatre, he is speaking about waiving farmer loans”, he lambasted.

In Vidhana Parishad election, JD(S) will win 7-8 seats and also there is a need to strengthen third front by national leaders of the party sit together and bring unity within the party, he said.
