In the town of Gurumithakal, former minister Baburao Chinchansuru made an unexpected announcement. He proposed Radhakrishna Doddamani’s name as a potential Congress candidate for the Kalaburagi Lok Sabha constituency even before the official candidate announcements were made. Baburao Chinchansuru expressed that Radhakrishna Doddamani, the son-in-law of AICC President Dr. Mallikarjun Kharge, could potentially represent the Congress in the Kalaburagi Lok Sabha seat.
