Karkala: A 24-year-old youth was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment on charges of molesting a minor girl on Wednesday, April 13.

Praveen from Shettibettu in Kervase is the accused.

Pronouncing the judgment, the court here sentenced the accused to six months in jail and imposed a fine of Rs 8,000.

The incident took place on August 15, 2012, when the accused took the 16-year old girl to a hill and molested her. The chargesheet was submitted to the court against the accused by the then Karkala rural police officer Ajmathali.  His charges were proved after investigation.
