Udupi: Newly introduced Byndoor -Kasargod train was flagged off by the Shimoga MP, Yeddyurappa at Byndoor here on Tuesday, 10 February. It will benefit passengers going o the temple town of Mookambika Devi, said a Railways spokesperson.

Inaugurating the event, the MP demanded that CM should continue financial aid to the railways; he urged the government to grant Rs 1000 crore deposit to develop railways in State. Railways here also need better facilities for the passengers, Yeddyurappa added.
The Panambur port should be connected to Konkan railway and not by Southern railway. Konkan railway should be double tracked in order to avoid congestion.
Reportedly around Rs 2.60 crore was released during his tenure for the railway station in Byndoor. The work would get over in another month and the Union railway minister would be invited to inaugurate the newly built structure, said the spokesperson.
