Udupi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is gearing up for the may 10, 2023 general assembly elections in Karnataka, has decided to field candidates on a number of calculations.

The statements of state leaders have confirmed that the BJP, which is determined to win more seats in the coastal region, which is a BJP stronghold, has decided not to give tickets to some sitting MLAs as per the political calculations.BM Sukumar Shetty, the sitting MLA of Bynduru constituency, is doubtful to get the ticket according to the sources. This is a minus point for the MLAs, who have developed the backward Byndoor constituency by bringing in more than Rs 3,000 crore in grants, as the party workers have no inclination towards them. B.M. Sukumar Shetty is likely to be denied a ticket as the internal survey conducted by the party has also given a contrary opinion to the MLAs.

Tickets are likely to be finalised for candidates from the Banta community.
The names of Gururaja Shetty Gantihole, a loyalist activist of the Sangh, who has never contested the elections, and Pranay Kumar Shetty, former president of byndoor BJP mandal, are in the forefront. Kundapur MLA Srinivas Shetty has already withdrawn from the poll fray and has decided not to contest the elections. Kiran Kumar Kodgi, son of former MLA DG Kodgi, who is the vice-chairman of the State Food Corporation, is expected to get the Kundapur ticket. The BJP’s final list of candidates will answer everything.
The move of BM Sukumar Shetty, the sitting MLA of Byndur Constituency, has created a stir.
