Udupi: Reacting to the selection of BJP’s candidate for Udupi assembly constituency, Udupi’s sitting MLA Raghupathi Bhat said, “The party has not given me a ticket so far because I am a Brahmin. I am not a candidate of any caste. The party had earlier given me a seat because I am a good worker and a worker. If my name is not in the list of candidates, I will give my next opinion,” he said.

No matter what the criteria come in Kundapur, I will not be affected. I don’t want a ticket from Kundapur. An aspirant from Udupi constituency. Haladi Srinivas Shetty will not contest from Kundapur. The party will decide on the candidate there. It is not possible to match the image of Kundapur with Udupi. The BJP has a chance to win in Udupi. In Udupi assembly constituency, we have vacated the Congress.I have brought many Congress workers into the party on confidence. Sometimes the fate is decided. In 2013, no one thought I would not get a seat. I had just started working. But the ticket was lost due to an accident caused by me. So everything is decided on the fate. I won’t mind that, he said.
