Udupi: 16-year-old girlbwas rescued by lifeguards from drowning at Malpe Beach here in the District.

The girl has been identified as Aishwarya, a native of Chitradurga. She was administered basic first aid after being pulled ashore. As she had swallowed a lot of seawater she was admitted to Manipal Hospital for further treatment.

The incident took place when Aishwarya was playing on the beach.
