Manipal: Manipal University, Manipal in collaboration with the University of Milano will conduct a two-day workshop on “Bologna Process-the European Higher Education Area: ECTS, Mobility, Employability and Internationalization of Indian Higher Education System” here on March 2 and 3.

This workshop is funded by the Erasmus Plus programme of the European Commission; EU Higher Education Policy: The Bologna Process and Internationalization of Indian Universities (Bologna-IN).

The workshop aims to discuss diffusion of EU Higher Education Policy in India through multidisciplinary and innovative activities and methodologies and enhance internationalization of Indian academic systems and increase awareness about EU integration process. Internationalisation of Higher Education is a part of the globalisation process and is both a prerequisite and result of globalisation.

This Jean Monnet Project intends to bring such efforts being made in Europe to the Indian contexts where they can be adapted based on the realities on ground,” said Neeta Inamdar, Head – Department of European Studies (DES), Manipal University.

Understanding Bologna Process that has led to harmonisation of European Higher Education system can enhance possibilities of internationalisation of Indian Higher Education. This project was designed basically for creating that environment where mobility of students and staff is facilitated without major hurdles, said Stefano Greco, Project Manager, DES, Manipal.
