Summer Training 2015 for Manipal University students inaugurated

Manipal: The Annual Summer Training Programme 2015 for students and faculty of Manipal University conducted by Manipal University Students’ Research Forum (MUSRF) under the aegis of Research Directorate of Manipal University was inaugurated by Manipal University Vice Chancellor, Dr H Vinod Bhat on June 15, 2015 at Manipal College of Pharmaceutical Sciences. The training programme is in its second year. 

manipalAlso present on the occasion were; Dr. N Udupa, Director Research (Health Sciences); Dr.Raghuvir Pai, Director Research (Technical Sciences); Dr C Mallikarjuna Rao Principal, MCOPS, Mr. Prateek Jain, President, MUSRF and Dr.Srikanth Prabhu, Advisor, MUSRF.

Dr. Vinod Bhatin his speech emphasised on the importance of continuous learning and the aim to see Manipal University get into world’s top 200 universitiesby 2020. He also said that there was a lot to learn from the new generation of students and was confident that MUSRF would do well in future.

The summer training programme and its importance was explained by Dr. Srikanth Prabhu, Associate Professor, MIT. He explained how the new age research was bridging borders within science and the importance of amalgamation of specialized thinking. 

The Programme, open to all students of  science and technology,  aims to inculcate the spirit of research in the new generation. The programme is divided into two modules that of the health sciences and the technical sciences.The participants can opt for either one or both modules. The programme attempts to connect health sciences and technical sciences and also help students derive a deeper insight in their domains.

While the morning sessions will include talks from eminent personalities of Manipal University including the Dr TMA Endowment Chairs, the afternoon sessions will be reserved for live demonstrations and practical work at different departments of Manipal University.Mr. Prateek Jain delivered the vote of thanks.
