Sea erosion at Malpe beach, MLA visits to find a temporary solution

Udupi: Sea erosion has been reported from several places in Udupi district on Thursday onwards, to inspect the same MLA Pramodh Madwaraj inspected the beach with the officials on Friday June 13.

“The permanent walls will affect the beauty of the beach, however it is better to go for a temporary sea wall adjacent to the road”, said MLA Pramodh Madwaraj.

Further the MLA instructed the port engineer, PS Rathod to initiate the same.

All the sign boards were washed away by high waves. 60 Meter erosion is been recorded here.  The hut which is build by the District Administration for the people to relax during summer is also going to be washed away soon, he added.

Yuvraj, CMC president, Srikanth, Commissioner, Mohan Rao Tazhildar and Ramesh Kanchen and others were present.

The gold search

With the high ways – Coins, Necklaces, Karimanis, Bracelets and rings, that might have been washed out at some point were found on the shore.

The scenario has attracted a large number of people in search of gold.
