Udupi :Savitha Shivanand Kotian and Prakash T Mendon, both from the BJP have been  elected the President and Vice President respectively of the Udupi Zilla Panchayat. The elections were held on Thursday August 7 under the supervision of Jayanthi, Mysore Regional Commissioner, Muddu Mohan, Deputy Commissioner and Kanagavalli, Udupi ZP CEO.

Savitha represents the Belman constituency, while Prakash T Mendon is from Basrur.

Speaking after the election,  the new ZP President said she would accord top priority towards  regular supply of clean drinking water. Good roads  would also be on top of my agenda, she said. She further assured to strive her level best to live upto the expectation so the people.

The new ZP Vice President promised to work towards improving  sanitation facilities and also give priority to education and health aspects.
