Udupi: Rowdy Sheeter Pitty Nagesh, a resident of Kukkikatte was found hacked to death in a mysterious circumstances by a group of men in front of Halima Sabju auditorium at Udyavar here on Thursday September 11.

It is learnt that Nagesh was heading from Udyavar to Udupi and on the way he was attacked by a group of unidentified men. The men fled the scene after committing the crime.

Locals said that the strangers had an argument with Nagesh.

SP Rajendra Prasad, DySP Santosh Kumar and personnel of Kaup police station came to the spot.

The body has been taken to Ajjarkad hospital for post-mortem.

It is suspected that the murder was carried out by Vinod Shettigar’s gang as an act of revenge. Rowdy Vinod Shettigar was murdered in Hiriadka jail on January 14, 2011, and Nagesh was one of the accused in the case.

Pitty Nagesh was arrested on 28/08/06 as the main accused of Hithendra Murder case in Manipal. He was arrested along with a bike used for committing the murder.

Earlier too several attempts were made to murder him and a police complaint was registered at the Manipal Police station in January 2012.
