Udupi: The suspects arrested in the Praveen Poojary murder case who are presently lodged in Hiriadka jail were remanded to judicial custody till September 15.
The court extended the judicial custody of all the 21 accused in the case after they were produced here on Wednesday, August 31. It is learnt that only one accused had moved for bail application, which the court rejected.
It may be recalled that BJP worker Praveen Poojary (28) along with his friend Akshay Devadiga (20) were said to be transporting two cows in Praveen’s tempo late night on August 17. Several activists of right-wing groups held-up the tempo and assaulted the duo with sharp weapons killing Praveen and injuring Akshay.
