Karkala: A 44-year-old died after he was hit by an unidentified vehicle during his morning walk. The accident occurred near Anekere mosque on Wednesday, November 25.
The deceased has been identified as Mahesh Poojary, a resident of Kuntady.

According to sources, the vehicle rammed Mahesh from behind and fled the spot. The impact of the accident was such that Mahesh’s head was smashed.

The body has been shifted to the taluk government mortuary. Karkala town police have registered a case.
