Udupi: After a series of incidents that paints the region to be most communally strained, here in Udupi, the Muslims have decided to take part in the Paryaya celebrations of Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Pejawar, who will be ascending to the Paryaya Peetha for the record fifth time.
As per District Samasta Muslim Paryaya Sauharda Samiti, it will put up a good will gesture by arranging to supply cold drinks to people during the ‘Purapravesha’ procession of the Swamiji on January 4 and also take ‘Horekanike’ to Pejawar Math in a procession on January 10. The Samiti has also decided to organize blood donation camp and felicitation programme.
Speaking about the same, Samiti President Haji K Abubakker Parkala urged the Muslims and Muslim organisations to offer their donations in the form of Horekanika for the event.
The blood donation camp will be held at Sanskrit College premises. This camp will be inaugurated by Pejawar Swamiji.
General secretary of the Samiti, Hamjat Hejmadykody, joint secretary, Muihammed Arif, secretary Muhammed Nabeel, and treasurer, Ansar Ahmed, were present at the press conference.
