Man slashed in robbery attempt, assailants escape empty-handed

Udupi: A robbery attempt by a gang at a KSRTC bus stand in the city took a brutal turn when the victim was attacked with blades. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Saturday, September 29.

The victim is identified as Naveen S Ullagaddi (21), hailing from Haveri. Reportedly, Naveen was asleep just before the incident, when he woke up due to a commotion at the bus stand.

At that moment, he noticed three men next to him, one of whom ordered him to shell out his money. When Naveen refused to do so, the man shoved him. Naveen immediately shouted out for help, which scared the men away, but not before they slashed him up, leaving him with injuries to his chest and abdomen.

The incident has left the people anxious about their safety at the bus stands.

A case has been registered by the Udupi City Police.
