Puttur: A case has been registered against a person for allegedly murdering his wife near Bairaguri in Sarvey village.
The incident came to light two days after the crime took place.

It is learnt that Vijaya (38) hacked his wife Bhagirathi (31) two days back. On April 13, he informed a neighbor that he had killed his wife.

Immediately the neighbor passed the information to others and found the woman in a pool of blood.

On learning about the incident, the police arrived at the spot and took Vijaya into custody.

A sickle which was used by the accused was found near the body.

ASP Rishyanth, circle inspectorAnil S Kulakarni are further investigating. A murder case has been registered at Sampya police station.
