Karkala: Karkala Town Municipal Council bagged a national award from Clean India General recently.
The award function was held at Munbai Leela hotel on January 22. Karkala TMC president Rehmath N Sheikh and TMC Chief Officer Rayappa received the Best Practice award for waste management from Navi Mumbai deputy commissioner Dr Baba Saheb Rajalai.

Earlier TMC Chief Officer Rayappa had sent a PPT on door to door waste collection and Vermi-Compost to the Clean India Jerry Committee. Based on PPT the council won the national award. The second place was won by Gujarat.
