Udupi: Udupi Janapara Vedike staged protest in front of DC Office against the irregularities in girls’ post metric hostel in Thottam.

Speaking on the occasion Sriram Deewana, president  of Janpara Vedike said that action should be taken against the officials who are responsible for the pathetic condition of the hostel.

He said there are 175 students in the hostel. All are put up in a small hall. The hostel comprises of only two toilets and bathrooms. The hostel is in a pathetic condition  and unhygienic.

The hostel should be shifted. The girls should be given proper basic facilities and they should be shifted to an hygienic area, wherein they are assured a healthy living, he added.

He said the Deputy Commissioner should direct the officials to take action immediately.
