Kundapur: Hindu Jagarana Vedike held a protest meet here on Sunday, September 07 demanding the suspension of Kundapur police inspector Nasir Husain, alleging that the inspector was physically assaulting the minor and innocent youths in the police custody.

Sathyajith Surathkal said that only after his suspension, peace will be prevailed in the region. He said that they will intensify protest if the authorities fail to take action.

Condemning the ‘assault’ on Hindu activists, near Shastri Circle here on Sunday September 7, Sathyajith said that lathi charge and filing FIR on every issue does not solve problem. The police cannot misuse their anger to beat up innocent people using lathi. It’s an insult to the khaki, he added.

“We will not sit quiet and tolerate such issues. We know to protect ourselves. The police should not favor religion alone”, he said.

Another protestor said that the police have beaten up innocent youngsters and cases have been booked against them. We will not tolerate this anymore.

Prashanth Kamath, Ashok Kageri, Ganesh Bejaadi and Kiran Koteshwara of Hindu Jagarana Vedike were among others present on the dais.
