Udupi: United Riders Udupi have organised a bike rally on June 21, to celebrate World Motorcycle Day,  said Mohammad Suhail, founder of the organisation.
Speaking at press meet, he said the rally will be held from Ajjarkadu War memorial to Malpe beach.

The rally has been organised to create awareness on road safety. As many as 200 people from 18 Bike riders club from Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district will be participating in this rally, he said.

There has been rise in number of two wheelers in Udupi and Dakshina Kannada. Bike riders sometimes do not wear helmet or use low quality helmets, which is the sole reason for rising deaths in accidents. Helmet is for saving life or safety and not to escape from Police fine or to show off.

So the rally will create awareness among riders about the importance of helmets and other road safety measures.

Programme organiser Prasad Karkera said the rally will be kickstarted by SP Annamalai at 11.15am on June 21. At Malpe beach thereafter Hot Piston Club members will perform bike stunts at 12pm. Then the rally will conclude at Udupi Christian school, he said.
