Karkala: The process of vanishing the identity of the Lokayukta had started in 2014, opined former Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde.
Addressing the reporters on sidelines of a programme held at Nitte Education Trust on Thursday, Justice Hegde said that it all started off when the government first prevented the Lokayukta from taking action against tainted government officials under the anti-corruption law.

“However, the government had to give up its plans of dismantling the Lokayukta due to the participation of the people,” he said adding that the ACB formed the state government had eight IAS and KAS officials.

“Considering the fact that most of officers in such lists are corrupt, the question is how will they work to curb corruption,” he questioned.
