The agitators staging protest at Freedom park grabbed attention of public by consuming only Bevu(Neem leaves) and boycotting Bella(jaggary).

The mixture of ‘jaggery and neem’ leaves symbolizes that life always has a mixture of good and bad in it.

Meanwhile, the talks between agitators and Minister for Education, Kimmane Rathnakar failed as the government’s proposal of hiking wages in instalments was denied by the lecturers.

Speaking to the media after conciliation talks failed, Kimmane informed that he tried to offer more to the lecturers hike in wages beyond he was permitted by the CM and Cabinet, he said.

He has also not ruled out possible stringent action against agitators if they fail to end strike and resume to evaluation work on April 13.

However, the agitating PU lecturers have agreed to report to duty for Chemistry paper re-examination slated on April 12.
