DySP H T Chandrashekhar to investigate Bhasker Shetty murder case

Udupi: DySP H T Chandrashekhar, Criminal investigation department (CID) has been appointed as the investigating officer to probe the sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case.

Information regarding the case is under tight wraps after the CID took over the case. One of the accused, Niranjan Bhat had told police that the remains of Shetty’s incinerated body and other items were discharged into rivulets at three places. Officials have not revealed any information about the same.

The CID team which is in Udupi, visited Nandalike on Friday. The team is said to have inspected the site where the alleged Homa was held. It is also said that the CID team questioned locals including Kittu Maistry who repaired the Homa Kunda. Statements from Bhasker Shetty’s mother and family members too were obtained by the team.

CID superintendent of police, Dr D C Rajappa led team has been probing and details are being put together, sources said. Inspector general of police, Arun Chakravarthy visited Niranjan Bhat’s house on Friday afternoon and also the rivulets where the items were reportedly thrown. Now with H T Chandrashekhar taking up the case, the team might start fresh investigation and also search and try to locate more evidences.
