Udupi: The District Congress staged a protest at Clock Tower near service bus stop on Tuesday June 25, against the ruling NDA government with regards to price hike.

Former Union minister Oscar Fernandes said diesel and sugar price have been hiked and 14 percent hike in the railway fare is an unexpected move from NDA.
He alleged that the BJP without knowing the global economic scenario and inflation always stated Congress responsible for hiking the prices of petroleum products. However by doing this BJP men are misleading the public.
He added if the new government continues to do this, voters will regret choosing BJP.
“The Congress government could not control inflation but tried maximum to safeguard the interests of the poor, which is why 1 kilogram of rice was given at Rs 3”, he asserted.
Moreover he demanded they should present a plan for eradicating poverty in the forthcoming budget.
