Panambur police personnel injured while attempting to nab an accused

Mangalore: A lady Sub-inspector and three constables of Panambur police station were badly injured while chasing a person convicted in a case, and a murder accused,  near Baikampady, late night on Tuesday June 24.  The injured have been identified as sub-inspector of police Bharathi G  and three constables Chandrahas, Radhakrishna and Sathish.

Reportedly Bharathi along with her team of constables was to nab Salam, an accused in an attempt to murder case in Moodibidri.

However when the team confronted him, and tried to subdue Salam, he brandished a knife and when they tried to remove the knife from his hand, he attacked the police. All the police  personnel and  Salam were injured. All of them including Salam were taken to a private hospital for treatment.

It is learnt that Salam has several cases registered against him in Moodbidri, Panambur and Suratkal police stations, and he is convicted in one case. The court has issued an arrest warrant against him.
