Caste Equality Possible With Social and Economic Equality: CM

Udupi: Siddaramaiah, Chief Minister of Udupi inaugurated Gurupeeta at Kulamahashree Temple at Benne Kudru. On this occasion he distributed Health cards to the beneficiaries at Gandhi Maidan Brahmavar and finally reviewed KDP meeting here on Saturday 27.

Addressing the huge mass at Gandhi Maidan the CM said that let us not just speak about the equality; it’s time to work on it. Equality is possible only by uplifting the backward classes, who are often exploited in the name of caste since ages. He said that the caste equality is only possible through social and economic equality, for that education plays a major role and the financial stability to stand in confidence.
According to him backward class should come to the mainstream and they should not limit themselves with the ancestors occupation but they should think of working as a scientist, engineers and doctors etc.

He added that Baba Saheb Ambedkar, always stressed on acquiring knowledge and fight for the right.  Indian constitution gives equal rights to all but one has to be aware of the rights. CM also said that associations should be formed to self-sufficiency. Different Associations in the state work for the upliftment of the community and there is no harm in that he added.

 

As development is concerned CM assured that he would look into the fund sharing of fisheries ports in 40:60, earlier it was 60:40, he further asked MP Shabha Karlaje that have a talk at the centre to come up with better contribution .
He declared compensation package for the death of fisherman would be increased from Rs one lakh. He said in the budget Rs 1000 crores will be used for community halls for various castes.

He assured that he will talk to the district leaders and find absolution for all the problems of the district like restricting of the CRZ norms for 50 meters, permanent sea wall for the sea erosion menace, housing loans, and subsidies for the needy.
