Mangaluru: While debates are still on about the ‘VIP’ treatment being extended to AIADMK leader VK Sasikala, here in Mangaluru three police personnel stand suspended for giving similar treatment to three undertrials in the sensational Bhaskar Shetty murder case.

Rajeshwari Shetty, wife of Late Bhasker Shetty, her son Navaneeth Shetty and an astrologer named Niranjan Bhat are the prime accused in the Bhasker Shetty murder case and on Monday when the trio was produced before the court, they were brought in an Innova car.

This issue was raised by a section of media, following which police personnel Sudhakar, Renuka and Salman Khan have been suspended.

The SP has ordered suspension of the three from immediate effect.

Ever since the coldblooded murder of Bhasker Shetty, a Dubai based businessman by his own wife and son came to light after the arrest of the two, allegations of VIP treatment to the accused have been making rounds.

The video of Manipal police taking the accused to a plush hotel for lunch while interrogation too had gone viral. As per unconfirmed sources, Rajeshwari, who was suffering from appendicitis problem too was lodged in an a/c room in a private hospital recently.

Bhasker Shetty had gone missing about a year ago. Soon his wife and son fell in the suspicion radar, who later confessed to have burnt the businessman to death and disposed the ashes into streams at various locations.
