Udupi: The JMFC court has sent the prime accused in the Bhasker Shetty murder case, Navaneet Shetty and Niranjan Bhat to judicial custody till October 3.
The court denied the request of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for three more days of CID custody.
Another main accused in the case, Rajeshwari might be soon out of police custody. Her lawyer informed the court that the High Court has ruled that Rajeshwari should not be in police custody anymore as the accused had spent enough days in the police custody and any more days would be regarded as human rights violation. The court has directed the lawyer to produce the order copy from the HC. The lawyer said that he would submit it on September 24.
In another development in connection to the case, sources said that the CID team has retrieved a curtain rod which was reportedly used by the accused to kill Bhasker Shetty at his house.
