Udupi: All the five arrested accused in the Bhasker Shetty murder case will be produced in the court on Wednesday, August 24.
The prime accused in the case, Bhasker Shetty’s wife Rajeshwari (48), his son, Navaneeth Shetty (20), astrologer, Nandalike Niranjan Bhat (26) as well Niranjan’s father, Srinivas Bhat (56), and car driver, Raghavendra (25) who are accused of destroying evidence will be produced in the court. It is said that they might be handed over to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for investigation.
The court might also hear today the police’s plea to match DNA of Bhasker Shetty by collecting DNA of his mother and brothers. The bail plea of Srinivas Bhat and Raghavendra too might come up for hearing today. The hearing is all set to come up at the court of the additional civil court (senior division) and chief judicial magistrate.
Meanwhile, District president of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike, Santosh Shetty Panjimar has said that Rajeshwari’s mother too should be interrogated as she had made several statements in an interview to a TV channel.
CID DIG Sonia Narang who is in the city, is said to have given a piece of her mind to the police personnel of Manipal station for their lethargic approach towards the Bhasker Shetty murder case.
