Udupi: The District Crime Branch Police (DCIB) arrested two persons and two minors in connection with a robbery case that was reported on 30t January 2017, in Maskibail, Barkur near here.
The arrested have been identified as Prahalad Poojary (23), son of late Sheena Poojary of Golibettu, Irodi Grama Sasthan, Udupi Tq., and Prashanth G, son of Ramachandra Sherigar, Sasthana Gudmi grama, Udupi taluk and two minors.

As per the investigation by the police, the accused broke into the locked house and stole gold and cash. The police have arrested the accused and recovered from them Rs 58,000 worth of gold and Rs 2,560 cash along with a car valued at Rs. 5 Lakh, the total value of stolen articles amounting to Rs. 5.6 Lakh.

Accused Prahalad Poojary has earlier stolen chains and valuables in his own house as per a case filed at Kundapura and Kota Police Stations. Prashanth along with Prahalad snatched gold chains in Koteshwar limits.

Investigation was carried out by a team under the direction of K T Balakrishna, Superintendent of Police, Udupi district and ASP Vishuvardhan. The operation was executed by DCIB SI Sampath Kumar, ASI Rosario D’Souza, police staff Chandra Shetty, Ramu Hegde, Santhosh Kunder, Suresh K, Raghavendra Uppunda, Praveen, Shivananda, Dayananda Prabhu, driver Raghavendra, Technical Section ASI Achuytha, Vijayakumar and Ramesh Naik.
