Bengaluru ATM attack case: Police nab suspect

Bengaluru: Finally, the police have nabbed the notorious criminal who attacked Corporation Bank employee Jyothi Uday on November 13, 2013 at an ATM kiosk in Bengaluru. The accused has been arrested by Andhra Pradesh police at Madanapalli in Chittoor district.

According to reliable sources, the police have identified the accused as Madhukar Reddy of Muddalapuram of Thamballapalli mandalam in Chittoor district. It was said a traffic police constable has nabbed Madhukar Reddy while the latter was moving in a suspicious manner on January 31 at Nallapalli near Madanapalli. The sources said that Madhukar Reddy was sentenced to life in a murder case in 2006 and escaped from Kadapa Central Prison after serving five years. Later, he was arrested by Chittoor police but escaped.

Bengaluru police have reached Madanapalli to take the accused into custody. Meanwhile, Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara congratulated police for nabbing the suspect in ATM attack case. Speaking to a TV channel, Udayakumar, the husband of Jyothi, has said that he was happy to hear the news of nabbing the suspect in the ATM attack case. “I was shocked to hear the news of attack on my wife Jyothi. We have almost forgotten about this case since there was no progress even after three years. I want the accused to be punished as per law,” Udayakumar said.
