Karkala : An autorickshaw driver of Belman has set an example for many others to follow by tying the nuptial knot to an orphan young woman who is an inmate of the Spoorthidhama at Bellur.

The auto driver named  Larryloida D’Souza (35) of  Belman Nadpalke entered into wedlock  with Anitha (28)  with the blessings of the Parish Priest of Attur Church on Wednesday June 18. The couple later exchanged garlands and Larry tied the sacred Mangalasutra around the neck of Anitha. The couple even  got their marriage registered at the Registrar’s Ofice at arkala.

Larry who bid good bye to studies after his SSLC has since then been an autorickshaw driver by profession. Though he  had marriage on mind since some time, Larry admits that he couldn’t  find any suitable bride as most families got their daughters married off to   young men who were well off in life.

Finally, Larry had made up his mind to  give a fresh lease of life to an orphan young woman by accepting her as his  life partner. He contacted Keshava Koteshwara, chief of Spoorthidhama and upon his consent  expressed his wish to marry Anitha who too willingly agreed.

Larry has gifted his bride, a necklace, wedding saree, cell phone and various other essentials. The simple wedding ceremony held at Attur Church was  attended by Keshava Koteshwara and other well wishers who heartily wished the newly wedded couple.
