Karkala: A case has been registered against an youth for allegedly trying to mislead people with anti-religious comments on CM Siddaramaiah.

A message containing derogatory remarks against the CM was in circulation for the last few days on the instant messaging app, ‘Whatsapp’.

In the message, the accused Ranjith Poojary had written that CM had performed Chamundeshwari pooja wearing shoes. He also said that CM is born to a muslim and is also a anti-hindu.

Ranjith a resident of Karamballi in Udupi had allegedly sent the message to congress activists and others which insulted the CM, the complaint said.

Karkala Municipal member and Youth Congress Unit leader Shubhada Rao filed a complaint at Karkala City police station. He has urged Udupi Police Superintendent to further investigate and take strict action against the accused.
