Udupi: After receiving appeals from the management of four government operated schools in Udupi city with regard to lack of toilet facilities, Adani UPCL took up the project of building toilets in the schools. Toilets especially for girl students at a total cost of Rs. 20 lakh were constructed by Adani owned Udupi Power Corporation Limited as a part of their CSR initiative.

At the inauguration of the toilet built at T A Pai Modern Higher Primary School in Udupi, Adani UPCL’s Joint President Kishore Alva said, “Toilet construction work has been taken up in Nithya Sahaaya Matha High School in Yellur, Government PU Colleges in Mudarangadi and Palimar at a total cost of Rs. 20 lakh. We received grievances from the management of these schools regarding lack of toilet facilities at the school. Following the request, CSR funds of Adani UPCL was implemented on building toilets.”
Managing Trustee of T A Pai Modern Higher Primary School, M Vishwanath Bhat lauded the efforts of Adani UPCL in construction of toilets for government schools and thanked Kishore for initiating their Corporate Social Responsibility project.
The toilet at T A Pai Modern Higher Primary School was built by the company at a cost of Rs. 5.5 lakh. The project was taken up as a part of ‘Green Nurturing Programme’ under Adani UPCL’s CSR initiatives.
