Udupi: While addressing the media persons at the BJP Office, here Shobha Karandlaje, MP Udupi – Chikkamangluru Constituency said that BJP has taken the GP election seriously and 50% women reservation out of 155 seats will strengthen women’s position in panchayaths.

She added that for the first time in Belapu GP, parties like Congress and BJP will contest with each other. BJP will contest 11 seats here.

She also supported the move to increase the GP presidential ship for 5 years, she added that by increasing term to 5 year, one will get enough time to plan better development for his area.

She ridiculed two years Congress rule in the state and said it has made inefficient schemes and taken wrong decisions. She added that the government is trying to slowly kill most of the development schemes introduced by the BJP government, Shadhibhagya is the best example of that, she said.

Sarvodaya Samavesha was not organised to highlight Congress achievements of two years but they were busy projecting their political perspectives and criticising BJP. The reason may be “they have nothing to say about their own achievement as they have done nothing, it’s a big zero”.

About annabhagya, she said every region has their own lifestyle, North Karnataka people don’t prefer rice, providing rice for 1 rupees does not help them and they prefer to sell it for higher rate. Ksheerbhagya is now limited to dispose old stock of milk powder so students are preferring not to drink it. She demanded that government should think about the consequences before implementing any schemes.
