Kasargod :  Yuva Morcha activists gheraoed the Assistant Executive Engineer of Kasargod Town Municipal Council  on Thursday April 24 in protest against the supply of saline water to the town and other nearby panchayat areas.

The activists who arrived at the Water Resources Department office at Vidyanagar, gheraoed the engineer PR Usha and staged a protest  holding bottles with samples of the saline water.

A memorandum was also submitted to the Deputy Commissioner seeking to initiate remedial measures.

PR Sunil, District President of Yuva Morcha,. AV Harish Kumar, General Secretary, Ranjith Ammangodu, Secretary, K Srikanth, General Secretary and others were present.

DC directs people against consuming salty water : Deputy Commissioner PS Mohammad Sageer has directed people not to consume the salty water supplied  in the TMC and nearby panchayat limits. He has also said that the affected areas would be  supplied bore well water through tankers.

As per reports, on Thursday  one liter of water had 1500 milli grams of salt. The salt content in the water was 1300 milli gram on Monday.
