Ullal: His job is to buy vegetable from Tamil Nadu and sell in Davangere, shimoga. He was looking after his sister and father with the money he got from this business. But destiny played with his life and now he is on the streets begging and collecting money for the treatment. He is suffering from elephantiasis.




Son of Mallappa a resident of Ramagundahalli, this 24 year old R M Vishwanath is suffering from elephantiasis since 5 years. As he cannot work nor is having a job in his native place he is staying in Deralakatte in a rented house. He is collecting money by begging in this area.
He used to buy vegetables from Hosur in Tamil Nadu in his own vehicle and then sell it in Shimoga and Davangere. Before he was working as driver and he purchased vehicle with his own money. Once in Tamilnadu, inside a toilet he was bitten by mosquito, then his condition worsened. His legs started swelling. He continued working even then. But as days passed by he could not even walk. He took loan for the treatment but doctors said that to cure it completely they need 7 lakhs. Lost rented house in his native place, vehicle and came to Mangalore. He left his sister at his aunt’s house.
He took begging as profession along with his father to collect money for his treatment. But he is not able to collect the total amount that he needs. So he has asked help from generous people.
