Youth from Jokatte dies in a mishap at Persian Gulf

Mangalore: In a tragic incident, a boy who belonged to Jokatte was one of the two Indians that died in an accident near the Persian Gulf on Friday December 27.

The deceased is been identified as 27-year-old Dawood Hakim who hailed from Porkodi in Jokatte.

The disaster struck when an offshore oil rig of Aramco, the state-run petroleum major of Saudi Arabia sank in the Persian Gulf.

It is also learnt that 24 other crew members of the ship suffered minor injuries but fortunately they were rescued on time.
